Holding Your Mouth Right

holding your mouth right
garnets, feldspar, geodes – all
dusty rocks,
just as fir and pine and spruce
are all Christmas trees --
if you hold your mouth right.
the more detail, the more the fascination;
a thousand grasses grow
in intricate distinction. yet a name
is not strictly necessary, except for you.
